A fisherman named Rabindra Nath (55) died due to lightning while fishing in a bill in Saghata Upazila of Gaibandha. The incident took place on Wednesday (September 6) at around 1:15 a.m. at Telian Bill in Bonarpara of the upazila.

The deceased Rabindra Nath is the son of Upindra Nath of Chatkalpani village of Bonarpara union. He is a fisherman by profession.

Relatives said that Rabindra Nath had been making a living by catching fish in various rivers and canals for a long time. In continuation of this, on Wednesday night, the local Telian went fishing on the bill. He was killed by lightning in the cloudy sky.

Comela Begum, member of Bonarpara Union Parishad (UP) reserved seat, said that a jailer named Rabindra Nath died due to lightning at that place. Everyone needs to be aware of this.
