Caritas Bangladesh Distribut Cash And Relief Goods For The Flood Victims In Bandarban

Caritas Bangladesh has provided cash and emergency materials distribute to the affected people in the hilly areas and Chittagong due to heavy rains in the first week of last August.Relief was distributed at Bandarban Technical Training Center BTTC premises of Caritas Bangladesh on Tuesday (September 5).Mayor of Bandarban Municipality Samsul Islam appeared as the chief guest and handed over these humanitarian aid of Caritas to the flood victims.On this day, 200 affected families selected from Bandarban municipality were given cash assistance of Tk 5,500 per family to meet their urgent needs such as food and drink,clothing,shelter materials,fuel,cooking utensils,medicine Etc.
In a press release,Caritas said the main objective of such assistance is to enable the affected families to resume their lives normally.In a short discussion meeting, Mayor Samsul Islam said that the government along with the municipality has taken various initiatives for the victims of the severe floods in Bandarban hill district. Besides this great initiative of Caritas Bangladesh is commendable.We welcome their humanitarian activities.Rupna Das,program officer of Bandarban on behalf of Caritas Bangladesh Chittagong region gave the welcome speech on the occasion.
Bandarban Municipal Councilor Ward No.3 Ajit Das presided over the event And Bandarban Municipality Ward No.5 Councilor Mong Mong Singh,Ward No.8 Councilor Kamrul Hasan Baccu were present as special guests.The press release also mentions that these reliefs are being distributed under the management of Caritas Bangladesh Chittagong region. UK,Netherlands,Jersey Government and CRS are providing financial support through Start Fund Bangladesh. Caritas Bangladesh has undertaken a project to provide this assistance to a total of 3,750 families in Bandarban,Rangamati and Cox’s Bazar districts.
