In the last 24 hours (Thursday 8 am to Friday 8 am), 14 people died due to dengue fever. At the same time, another 1,594 people were admitted to the hospital. With this, a total of 528 people died of dengue this year. And 1 lakh 10 thousand 224 people have been admitted to hospital due to dengue this year.

The Department of Health has given this information in a press release sent to the media on Friday.

Analyzing the data of the Department of Health and IEDCR, it can be seen that the official statistics of dengue cases and deaths so far this year have broken all the records of the last 24 years.

This year, a total of 52 thousand 656 people in Dhaka and 57 thousand 568 people outside Dhaka have been admitted to hospital with dengue fever.

In the year 2000, data storage of the first dengue patient started in the country. 93 people died of dengue that year, 5 thousand 551 people were diagnosed. Then in 2019 a maximum of 1 lakh 1 thousand 354 dengue patients were detected and a maximum of 281 deaths occurred in 2022.
