Discussion meeting on ‘Citizen Expectations’ held in Joypurhat

To make citizen-friendly Joypurhat district for all, a discussion meeting was held at 10 am at local Swapnachhaya Community Center basing on the opinions of people from various walks of life on August 6.
The program was organized by Democracy International (DI) sponsored USAID- strengthening political Landscape project.
It prioritizes six issues in the expectations presented by the citizens to make the district development and livable. They are- increasing the security of the town, planning with emphasis on women and children improving the quality of healthcare, building sustainable infrastructure suitable for disadvantaged and disabled people and ensuring accountability in town management. Democracy International Network members, college teachers, students, and representatives of various professions were present on the occasion.
The event was attended, among others, by Director of Joypurhat Chamber of Commerce MA Karim, former Commander of District Freedom Fighters SangsadAmzadHossain, Journalist Kh,MAbdurRahmanRone, MahfuzurRahman,Headmaster of town Model Government Primary School, DI Network members- Zaheda Kamal, AnisurRahman, Ratna Rashid, NasimaAkhtar.
Regional Manager of Democracy International AsmaAkhtar and electoral program associate AshekTanveerAneekwere also present.
40 people from different socio-economic status of Joypurhat participated to raise this civic expectation.
