A shy monkey was rescued from Zarinchhara tea garden area of Srimangal upazila of Moulvibazar.

On Tuesday (June 27) at 11 am, locals caught sight of a shy monkey in a populated area of Harinchhara tea garden. Later, after receiving information from the locals, the members of Srimangalasth Bangladesh Wildlife Service Foundation and Forest Department went to Harinchhara tea garden and rescued the shy monkey unharmed.
Swapan Dev said, people are more aware now, they don’t run with latisota to kill animals like before. Catch it safely and inform the Forest Department or Wildlife Service Foundation, it is a good sign. However, in some areas, rare animals including snakes are reported to be killed. We are trying to make people aware not to kill wild animals that run into the locality. Range officer Shahidul Islam and FG Subrata Sarkar were present during the rescue of the shy monkey. In the afternoon the shy monkey will be released in Lauachara National Park.
