BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said that the current Awami League government has failed in all aspects of running the country and is now disoriented. That is why they are inhumanely involved in the game of arresting the leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated organizations.

He said this in a statement on Sunday. He made this statement strongly condemning and protesting the arrest of Noakhali District BNP Relief Affairs Secretary Abdur Rahman Chairman from a hotel in the capital.

Mirza Fakhrul said that the government has turned the entire country into a prison by attacking, filing cases and arresting the leaders and activists of opposition parties including BNP and affiliated organizations.

He said that arrests of opposition leaders and activists have become widespread at present. It has become an ongoing process of government. The arrest of Abdur Rahman Chairman is part of that ongoing process. He called for immediate withdrawal of the case and his release.
