Director General of the Islamic Foundation on Monday. A circular signed by Munim Hasan informed about these instructions of the government.
The Ministry of Home Affairs on Sunday directed the Inspector General of Police and the Director General of Islamic Foundation to take measures to stop disinformation, provocative statements and activities for the sake of Tongi Ijtema. In view of this, the Islamic Foundation gives this instruction to all imam-khatibs and related people of the country.
It is said that the first phase of Tongi Biswa Ijtema will be held on January 13-15 and the second phase on January 20-22. For the sake of holding the World Ijtema properly, it is necessary to keep law and order intact, to protect religious and social harmony and to uphold the country’s image towards foreigners, to avoid all kinds of misleading, hateful and provocative statements and to ensure the presence of local and foreign congregations and worshipers in all mosques of the country.
In this situation, for the sake of fair and successful event of Biswa Ijtema, it is requested to take necessary measures to regularly broadcast from the microphone of the mosque before the Friday sermon and before and after the Waqtia Namaz in all the mosques located in the division/district in order to avoid disinformation and provocative statements and activities.
Recently, in a letter given by Ahle Shura Syed Wasiful Islam of Kakrail Mosque, it is alleged that the opposing party (Zubair Panthi) is destroying religious and social harmony through propaganda and provocative statements in Ijtema activities.
The government has decided to hold the first phase of Tongi Biswa Ijtema on January 13-15 (Maulana Zubairpanthi) and the second phase on January 20-22 (Maulana Sadpanthi), the letter said. But many of the organizers of the first phase and imams of some mosques are spreading false propaganda that there will be only one Ijtema in Juma Bayan and other prayers and that it is the first phase. In addition, local and foreign congregations are being prevented from rising in many mosques.
In such a situation, there is an extreme danger of deteriorating the law and order situation, destroying religious and social harmony and tarnishing the image of the country to foreigners through such propaganda and provocative statements and activities.
In view of this, the Ministry of Home Affairs ordered the Inspector General of Police and the Director General of Islamic Foundation to take action.
