BNP Vice Chairman, senior lawyer and several times President of the Supreme Court Bar Advocate Khandkar Mahbub Hossain passed away.

He breathed his last at Evercare Hospital in Bashundhara on Saturday (December 31) at 10 pm. BNP’s media cell member Shayrul Kabir Khan confirmed this information.

Khandkar Mahbub was born on March 20, 1938. His ancestral home is in Bamana upazila of Barguna district. He was admitted as an advocate on 31 January 1967.

On October 20 of the same year, he was enrolled as an advocate of the High Court. In 1973, he was the chief counsel of the court set up to try war criminals under the Dalal Act. Khandkar Mahbub served as President of Bangladesh Supreme Court Bar Association and Vice Chairman of Supreme Court Bar Association.

He joined BNP in 2008. From 2009 to 2016, he was an advisor to the BNP Chairperson. In 2016, he was appointed as the Vice Chairman of the Central Executive Committee of BNP.
