Zaker ALi Shuva: Community Policing Day-2022 was celebrated with the theme ‘Community Police’s motto is peace and order everywhere’. Community policing has been playing a special role in increasing public involvement with the police and curbing crime. On this occasion, a colorful rally and discussion meeting was held at Kumarkhali in Kushtia on the occasion of Community Policing Day.

On Saturday at 10:00 am, a colorful rally left the police station premises and ended at the police station premises at the end of the main city circuit. Later, in the discussion program under the chairmanship of Kumarkhali police station officer in-charge (OC) Mohsin Hossain, assistant commissioner (land) Kumarkhali, Md. Shahidul Islam, Upazila Social Service Officer Mohammad Ali, Police Inspector (Investigation) Akibul Islam, People from various professions including brave freedom fighters, public representatives, journalists and businessmen were present.

In the meeting, the speakers discussed cooperation in police work, prevention of child marriage, prevention of evictions, suppression of militancy-terrorism, evil effects of drugs, violence against women and children, prevention of dowry, misuse of mobile phones and increase of social values. How to maintain peace in the society by controlling new crimes with less manpower, the police introduced new methods with the people. And as a result of the introduction of community police activities, the police have been very successful in preventing crime by involving the common people of the society with less manpower.

In the president’s speech, Kumarkhali police station officer-in-charge (OC) Md. Mohsin Hossain said that community policing is an organizational philosophy and management; which involves people. Based on the partnership of the people, the government and the police, this program provides solutions to crime prevention and problem solving by eliminating the causes of crime, reducing crime trends and solving various problems of the society. Its motto is ‘Peace and order everywhere’. The Bangladesh Police officer expects that the community policing members will work unitedly and keep the society safe in order to eliminate and control the crime trend at every level of the society.
