Mayor Serniabat Sadiq Abdullah’s Facebook page shows that the mayor went to Barisal District School Center to cast his vote in the Zilla Parishad elections around 9 am. Barisal Zilla Parishad newly elected Chairman AKM Jahangir Hossain, Barisal Sadar Upazila Chairman Saidur Rahman Rintu, City Corporation Panel Mayor Gazi Naimul Hossain Litu, Rafiqul Islam Khokon, Ward No. 21 Councilor Sheikh Syed Ahmed Manna and Ward No. 5 Councilor Kefayet Hossain Roni were with him at that time. etc.

While entering polling booth number one, Barisal Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Moniruzzaman requested Mayor Sadiq Abdullah not to enter the polling booth due to party affiliation. At this time, the mayor got into a verbal argument with UNO.

Mayor Sadiq said to the upazila executive officer, ‘Am I entering here? What am I getting into? Why are you doing syncret? who are you What am I getting into? Yet you speak. Am I a baby? Talks like a stupid. The way you do it, it means that you are entering the party. There are 174 voters. So where is your problem?

AKM Jahangir told UNO that he is the mayor of Barisal City Corporation, I am the chairman of the district council and he is the chairman of the upazila parishad.

Mayor Sadiq told UNO, I did not enter. You have been saying since you arrived. You make a fool of yourself. You didn’t listen.
UNO Maniruzzman said to the mayor, I did not tell you anything sir.

After that, Mayor Sadiq Abdullah got into a verbal argument with UNO Moniruzzaman. Later UNO Maniruzzman was dissuaded by Sadar Upazila Chairman Saidur Rahman Rintu and unopposed Zilla Parishad Chairman AKM Jahangir Hossain.

Barisal Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Moniruzzaman told reporters that the news of my argument with Mayor Serniabat Sadiq Abdullah is not correct.
