Social media giant Meta has reported that the login information of 1 million Facebook users has been stolen. The company confirmed this information in a statement on Friday (October 7) US time.

Meta has identified over 400 malware apps on Android and iOS (iPhone) this year. They said that these apps steal the login information of internet users. Apple and Google have been notified to remove these malicious apps. Apple has removed 45 of the 400 problematic apps from the App Store after Facebook’s concern. A spokesperson for Alphabet said that Google has removed all harmful apps from the store.
In addition, Facebook said in the statement that photo editors, mobile games or health tracker apps mainly steal information.
