Corona infection is increasing again in the country. In the last 24 hours, 527 people have been diagnosed with corona. So far 20 lakh 17 thousand 614 people have been infected with this virus.
However, no one has died of Corona in the last 24 hours. As a result, total deaths remained unchanged at 29,339.
This information has been informed in the regular news bulletin about Corona sent by the Directorate of Health on Sunday.
According to the notification, 4 thousand 154 samples were collected in the last 24 hours. 4 thousand 143 samples were tested. The detection rate against the test was 12.72 percent, which was 9.66 percent on Saturday. The total detection rate since the beginning of the epidemic is 13.61 percent.
It is also said that 284 people have recovered from Corona in the last 24 hours. 19 lakh 60 thousand 615 people have recovered with them so far.
The first infection of coronavirus was detected in the country on March 8, 2020. The Department of Health confirmed the first death in the country on March 18 of that year, 10 days after the first patient was identified. The highest death toll that year was 64.
The number of patients has been on the rise since June last year due to the spread of the delta variant. A maximum of 16 thousand 230 people were diagnosed with corona in one day on July 28.
On July 7, 2021, for the first time, the number of deaths due to corona in the country exceeded 200. Between August 5 and 10, 264 people died, the highest single-day death toll in the pandemic. After several days more than 2 hundred died.
Then on August 13, the number of deaths started to fall below 200. After being over 100 for a long time, the death toll dropped below 100 on August 28. After Delta, a new type of corona hits Omicron.
On April 20, the health department reported the death due to corona. After that, Bangladesh passed 30 consecutive days without death due to Corona. Recently the fourth wave of Corona has started but the situation is under control.
