Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-JSD president AS M Abdur Rab said that attacks by the ruling party and government forces on opposition party gatherings, protests or demonstrations or on the houses of leaders, brutal attacks will lead to bloodshed in politics, which is not acceptable in any way.
He said that using force on freedom of expression or trying to control the political arena by issuing Article 144 will put internal politics at extreme risk. No good or healthy political results can be expected from firing at rallies and processions and attacking homes.
Asam Rao said these things at the joint meeting of JSD and fraternal organizations at the party’s central office on Bangabandhu Avenue in the capital on Tuesday afternoon.
He said that in the last decade and a half, the country is being pushed towards an intolerable conflict by continuously narrowing down the differences. The country is now facing extreme disaster due to the state system which is separated from the people. No government has the right to control democracy, constitution and rule of law. Running the country without representation of the people is tantamount to treason.
JSD Executive President Siraj Miah, Standing Committee Member Tanya Rob, Executive General Secretary Shahid Uddin Mahmud Swapan, Vice President Advocate Giyas Uddin Chowdhury, Joint General Secretary Kamal Uddin Patwari and others also addressed the meeting.
