On Sunday morning, the former president of District North BNP and former MP Mejbah Uddin Farhad said that the upazila BNP prepared in front of the Rajlakshi cinema hall in Mehendiganj to make the program announced by the center of BNP successful on Sunday (August 28). At the same place, Awami League announced the program and attacked after Saturday evening. Attacking government party leaders and activists detonated multiple cocktails at our meeting place. Later, they attacked and vandalized the pharmacy of Upazila BNP President Rafiqul Islam Labur, the business establishment of Municipal BNP leader Badsha Alam, the house of Municipal BNP General Secretary Riaz Uddin Chowdhury Dinur and the residence of Upazila General Secretary Gias Uddin Dipen.

In this regard, Upazila Vice Chairman Khorshed Alam Bhulu said, we did not attack anyone. Rather, when we came from the front of the cinema hall with a procession, the BNP activists threw bricks at us. Shafiqul Islam, OC of Mehendiganj police station, said, I have not received any complaint of attack and vandalism. If complaints are received, action will be taken subject to investigation.

30 BNP leaders injured in Bakerganj. Former Vice President of Bakerganj Upazila BNP and former Upazila Vice Chairman Harun-or-Rashid Jomaddar said that the preparatory meeting of Union BNP was going on in the house of Delwar Howladar of Helencha village of Garuria Union of Upazila after Saturday evening. In that meeting, 50/60 leaders and activists of BCL attacked frantically with sticks. 30 activists of BNP and all its affiliated organizations were injured in this. The seriously injured are being treated at various hospitals including Shebachim Hospital.
