Bureau Chief: The UN General Assembly declared 1981 to 1990 as the “Youth Decade” and 1985 as the “International Youth Year”. Extensive publicity was taken to involve the youth in the development program. In this context, some socially conscious youths of Sitakunda Upazila of Chittagong motivated and organized the youth of the area with the aim of establishing a development organization.
Thus began the march on May 20, 1985, with the active participation of the conscious youth in the development program of the organization ” YPSA” (Young Power in Social Action) for sustainable development.
On the occasion of the 36th founding anniversary of YPSA (Young Power in Social Action) for sustainable development, various programs were taken up by the organization following the health protection rules as per the government guidelines. The program included: presentation of concept papers, presentation of YPSA’s 36 years of progress, discussion meetings, special prayers for YPSA’s continued success and good health for all, participation in a virtual live event with the head office. The pre-arranged programs were held at the Cox’s Bazar office on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 3 pm.
As part of the program, a discussion meeting was held in the hall room of the Cox’s Bazar office under the chairmanship of YPSA Deputy Director and Cox’s Bazar Regional Head Khaleda Begum. Mr. Nazmul Barat Rony, (Program Coordinator Training and Campaign), Ipsa presented the concept paper under the direction of Mr. Mohammad Harun, Focal Person, Ipsa Cox’s Bazar; Md. Jasim Uddin, Project Manager, read from the draft history (YPSA’s story of progress) Greetings – Enayet Maula, Finance Manager, YPSA; Dr. Sourav Sakhayat, Project Manager, Hosne Ara Rekha, Project Manager, Joynal Abedin, Project Manager, Abu Taher and others. Speakers at the meeting said, YPSA is the voice of the people of Chittagong. Every activity of YPSA for the sustainable development of human quality of life is appreciated and accepted by all today. The speakers hoped that the cooperation and sincerity of all would continue in the days to come so that YPSA could successfully expedite the development activities on a wider scale.
After that, YPSA Regional Office in Cox’s Bazar along with the head office participated in the Facebook Live program. The 36th founding anniversary was celebrated by cutting a cake at the end of Facebook Live. At the end of the program, special prayers were offered for the continued success of YPSA and for the well-being of all. At the end of the day, Khaleda Begum, Regional Head and Deputy Director, thanked all and announced the end of the program. Many people including colleagues and well-wishers of various projects were present at the 36-year establishment of YPSA.
