World Tiger Day is celebrated in Mongla

Jashim Uddin, Mongla: The Sundarbans, the habitat of tigers, needs to be protected. Just as the Sundarbans will survive if the tiger survives, so the tiger will survive if the Sundarbans survives. Tigers are being killed and the Sundarbans is being destroyed in a planned manner due to smuggling syndicates and lucrative trade. The decision of the 2010 Tiger Summit in Russia was to double the number of tigers by 2022. We are failing to implement that decision. The people must be vocal against all activities that destroy tigers and the Sundarbans.
