World Sadachhari Security Day 2021 is being celebrated in Bangladesh like all over the world. This year the theme of the day is Digital Sadachari, let’s go safely. Various organizations around the world working for the rights of the visually impaired are celebrating the day with various arrangements. October 15 has been celebrated every year since 1964.
On the occasion of the day, a discussion meeting was organized in the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner in Chapainawabganj on Friday morning and free smart sadachari was distributed among the visually impaired people.
Deputy Commissioner Md. Monjurul Hafiz presided over the discussion jointly organized by the District Social Services Department and the Disability Services and Help Center.
Chapainawabganj Municipality Mayor Md. Nazrul Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Md. Mohsin Mridha, heroic freedom fighter Md. Abdus Samad, Deputy Director of the District Social Services Department Umme Kulsum and others spoke on the performance of Probation Officer of District Social Service Office Md. Nurul Islam. Among the visually impaired spoke were Md. Ainal Haque and Md. Mozammel Haque. Md. Shariatullah, Disability Affairs Officer of the District Disability Services and Relief Center, gave a welcome address on the occasion.
Later, the guests including the deputy commissioner distributed smart sadachari among 6 visually impaired people. At that time, Deputy Commissioner Md. Monjurul Hafiz said, there are some people in the district who do not fully and partially see. Sadachari is used as a symbol to give these visually impaired people safe access to roads and other places. Those who see it with their eyes will cooperate in their movement.
Assistant Commissioner SM Ashish Momtaz, Md. Ashikur Rahman and other officials and employees of various government and non-government organizations were present at the time.
