Monaim Khan, Netrokona: The Prime Minister’s gift relief materials have been distributed among the transport workers of the District Motor Vehicle Employees’ Union in Netrokona, which was damaged due to the government’s strict lock-down to prevent the spread of Corona. The relief was distributed at Satpai Stadium at 10 am on Monday at the initiative of Netrokona district administration in collaboration with the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.
Deputy Commissioner Kazi Md Abdur Rahman handed over the relief items to the transport workers. Deputy Director Local Government Zia Ahmed Sumon, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Overall) Md. Abdullah Al Mahmud, Additional District Magistrate Suhel Mahmud, Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Fakhruzzaman Jewel, District Relief Officer Sharful Islam, Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Masuda Akter were present on the occasion.
BRTA Deputy Director Engineer Mubarak Hossain, Red Crescent General Secretary Gazi Mozammel Hossain Tuku, Sadar Upazila Project Implementation Officer Md. Mizanur Rahman and District Sports Organization Vice President Abu Naser Talukder Milu, Mitali Sangha former Secretary ATMA Razzak, Titu Dutta Roy, joint general secretary of the district bus transport owners ‘association, Md. Adab Ali, general secretary of the district motor vehicle workers’ union and other labor leaders. District Relief Officer Md. Sharful Islam said that among the 550 transport workers affected in Netrokona due to the lock-down. Each was given 7 kg of rice, 1 kg of pulses, 1 kg of potatoes and 1 kg of oil.
