Tarikul Islam, Khulna: On the occasion of International Women’s Violence Prevention Party and Begum Rokeya Day 2020, a victory ceremony was held at Rupsha Upazila Parishad auditorium on Wednesday morning.
Md. Iqbal Hossain, Deputy Director of Local Government Department, Khulna addressed the function as the chief guest.
The chief guest said that the contribution of Begum Rokeya in the development of women’s education and women’s liberation movement was immense. Men as well as women are moving forward in parallel today. Every woman is a winner. We may not know the struggles and successes of many lives. He does not match himself, he does not come forward.
However, each of the women works as a winner in the development of their families. if there is development in the family, then there is development in the sub-districts and districts, above all there is development in the country. Therefore, the contribution of women in national development is undeniable.
UNO Nasrin Akter presided over the function organized by Rupsha Upazila Administration and Women’s Affairs Department.
Upazila chairman Md. Kamal Uddin Badsha, Vice Chairman Maulana Abdullah Jobayer, Women Vice Chairman Farhana Afroz Mona, Agriculture Officer Md. Fariduzzaman spoke as special guests.
Upazila Women’s Affairs Officer Tahera Khatun welcomed the function conducted by Youth Development Officer Md. Abu Bakar Mollah.
This year, Rupsha upazila level has won the best in five categories – Bagmara’s Anwara Begum in the category of economically successful, Char Rupsha’s Dalia Akter, in the category of education and employment, Naihati’s Suchitra Debnath, in the category of successful mother, Purbo Rupsha’s Sahenur in the category to start a new life by removing the horrors of torture and Jasmine Begum of Anandnagar has made an outstanding contribution to the development of the society.
At this time the best winners expressed their feelings. World Vision Bangladesh is the overall collaborator in the program. Officials of various departments of the upazila, leaders and activists of social organizations, journalists and NGO workers were present on the occasion.
