Cox’s Bazar Representative /
Testimony has started in the sixth phase in the murder case of retired Major Sinha Md. Rashed. It will start on Monday and will continue till October 27.
The testimony is being taken in the court of Cox’s Bazar District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Ismail. Testimony of 35 witnesses has been completed in the fifth phase. Out of a total of 83 witnesses in the case, the court today summoned 24 witnesses to testify in the sixth phase from October 25-27.
Public Prosecutor (PP) of the Cox’s Bazar District and Sessions Judge’s Court Faridul Alam told that 15 accused, including OC Pradeep, who was dismissed from jail at around 10:15 am, were brought to the court in a prison van under tight police guard.
“We are working hard to resolve this sensational case quickly,” he said. Dismissed OC Pradeep’s lawyer, one of the accused in the case, has applied for recall to the second witness in the case. This is a ploy to stop the dynamic proceedings of the case.
Note: On the night of July 31, 2020, Sinha Md. Rashed Khan was shot dead by the police at Shamlapur check post on Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive road.
