Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister. Ahmed Kaikaus said such programs to build houses with land for poor and landless people are rare not only in Bangladesh but all over the world. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has taken the project of giving land and houses to the landless people of the country for free as an act of worship.
He made the remarks while inspecting a shelter project in Maijdihi area of Kalapur union in Srimangal upazila on Sunday (September 19).
Addressing the concerned officials present, the Secretary said, “We are all proud to have the opportunity to participate in this shelter project of the Prime Minister.” “I’ve had the opportunity to do a lot better in my working life, but I’ve never done a better job in my life than the shelter project,” he added.
Msay was present, Sylhet Divisional Commissioner. Khalilur Rahman, Moulvibazar Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan, District Superintendent of Police. Zakaria, Moulvibazar District Additional Deputy Commissioner Mallika Dey, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Tania Sultana, ADM Romana Islam, District Additional SP Sudarshan Roy, Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila Executive Officer Sabina Islam, Srimangal Upazila Executive Officer. Nazrul Islam, Acting Chairman of Srimangal Upazila Parishad Mitali Dutta, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Neshar Uddin, Kalapur UP Chairman Mujibur Rahman Mujib and other officials of various government departments.
Dr. Ahmed Kaykaus toured the shelter project houses and exchanged greetings with the beneficiaries living in the 50 shelter houses and inquired about them.
Beneficiaries also came to visit their project area from the Prime Minister’s Office. Ahmed thanked Kaikaus and expressed his gratitude. The Chief Secretary inspected the houses constructed under the shelter project and appreciated its construction work. Mafruha Ahmed, the wife of the Chief Secretary, was with him at the time.
