UNO Paikgacha recovered government property on the Roads and Highways

Kamal Hossain: Paikgacha Upazila Nirbahi Officer(UNO) ABM Khalid Hossain Siddiqui’s bold move to recover crores of government property on the road as well as traffic congestion in the zero point area.As part of the ongoing evictions, red flags were hoisted to determine the location of the road through surveyors throughout the day on Saturday, and at the same time, UNO Khalid Hossain instructed to remove all kinds of illegally constructed infrastructure installations.

It may be mentioned that the main road from Zeropoint area of ​​Municipal Headquarters of Roads and Highways Department to Shivbati Bridge was acquired covering an area of ​​110 feet. A 18-foot pitch road was constructed from the acquired land.The remaining areas on both sides of the road were evicted when various establishments including shops were set up.

As a result, on the one hand, the Roads and Highways Department has shifted their property worth crores of rupees to the illegal occupants.On the other hand, the construction of installations on both sides of the road caused severe traffic congestion in the important zero point areas.

Finally, Upazila Nirbahi Officer ABM Khalid Hossain Siddiqui took bold steps to evict the illegal establishments.In the last few days, this official of the administration has evicted various establishments including tong shops on both sides of the road, but large infrastructures remain.

As part of the latest ongoing evictions, a red flag was hung to determine the location of the road by measuring it through a road surveyor.At the same time, UNO Khalid Hossain Siddiqui gave strict instructions to the concerned people to remove all the installations and infrastructure within the stipulated time.After a long struggle, UNO intervened and recovered billions of rupees worth of government property.

At the same time, the bus owners’ association and workers have removed the public transport parked on the road due to the eviction of illegal establishments. As a result, traffic congestion in the important Zero Point area has been largely resolved.

Another brave officer, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Muhammad Arafatul Alam, Deputy Assistant Engineer of Roads Rafiqul Islam and Surveyor Mizanur Rahman along with bus workers leaders assisted the Upazila Nirbahi Officer in this task.
