Two bakeries fined for making and selling food in dirty environment in Chapainawabganj

Abdullah Al Mamun, Chapainawabganj: RAB’s mobile court has fined two bakeries Tk 35,000 for making and selling food in an unhealthy and dirty environment at Amanura in Chapainawabganj.
The mobile court led by Squad Commander Assistant Superintendent of Police Mohammad Omar Ali and Executive Magistrate of the district administration Mohammad Ruhul Amin raided the Salma Bakery and Bhai Bhai Bakery at Amanura College Junction in Jhilim Union of Sadar Upazila from noon to afternoon on Tuesday.

According to the Chapainawabganj RAB-5 camp, they were making and selling various food items including cakes, biscuits and bread in an unhealthy and dirty environment at the two bakeries in the Amanura College junction area of Jhilim Union in Sadar Upazila.

The raids were carried out at the bakeries on Tuesday from 12 noon to 3:15 pm. Executive Magistrate Ruhul Amin imposed a fine of Tk 15,000 on Gumani, the owner of Salma Bakery and jailed for another 30 days for non-payment and Raihan Mandal, the owner of Bhai Bhai Bakery, was fined Tk 20,000 and jailed for another 10 days for non-payment, under Section 42 of the Consumer Rights Act 2009 for making food in a dirty environment. The fined money is deposited in the government treasury.
