Sheikh Momin, Goalanda (Rajbari): Severe traffic jam has occurred in Daulatdia Ferry Ghat area of Goalanda. Hundreds of vehicles and trucks carrying animals were seen in the ferry area. The traffic jam has spread over an area of three kilometers.
On Friday morning, it was seen that vehicles and animal trucks were stuck in the area of three kilometers of the highway from Zero Point of the ferry terminal to Daulatdia Union Parishad. As a result, traders and herdsmen of animal trucks as well as animals and common people are suffering in the sun and heat.
Mohsin, a trader who was stranded there, said that the farmers were afraid of heat stroke as the cattle trucks were stuck with other vehicles after reaching the wharf. If we could get on the ferry faster, at least the cows could be saved a little. Sohag, a Dhaka-bound passenger from Pangsha, said that after the restrictions were relaxed, a relative of the family left for Dhaka in the morning as Corona was attacked. The ferry has not reached till 10 am yet.
In this regard, BIWTC Daulatdia Ghat branch manager Shihab Uddin told Jugantar that there is strong current in the river due to rising water. At present 15 ferries are plying at Daulatdia end, the official said
