The three professional thieves involved in the theft of a telecom company have been sent to jail in Tahirpur, Sunamganj.
The judge ordered to send the three thieves to the district jail without bail when they were produced in court on Wednesday afternoon.
They are Shahparan Mia, 25, son of Khurshid Mia of Kastal Chargaon village in Uor Baradal union of the upazila, Jewel Mia, 25, son of Murshid Mia of the same village and Jilu Mia, 21, son of Maram Ali.
A wise court has ordered to send another minor involved in the theft to the Child Development Center (Boy) in Tongi, Gazipur, Dhaka.
Incidentally, on Monday night, members of a professional thieves’ gang broke the shutter of a telecom company on Badaghat School Road, a commercial center in Tahirpur, and stole a mobile phone set worth several lakhs including televisions and memory cards. Shahparan, son of Khurshid Miah of Kashtal Chargaon village in the hota upazila, was arrested by members of the Badaghat police outpost on Tuesday morning after seeing video footage captured on a CCTV camera at a telecom company. According to the information given by him, the police arrested two accomplices and another teenager and recovered the stolen television, memory card and mobile phone set worth several lakhs.
Badaghat police outpost in-charge SI said on Wednesday night. Joynal Abedin said that Zahirul Islam, the owner of the telecom company, filed a case against the unidentified accused. The accused were handed over to the wise court showing their arrest in that case.
There are allegations that three professional thieves have committed multiple thefts in the last few years in Ambari, Fakirnagar, Sonapur, Kukurkandi, Kashantal, Chargaon, Borokhara villages and Jamtala, Badaghat markets of the upazila. Several female and male members of the family of the three professional thieves were indirectly involved in the theft and cooperated in every theft.
