The waters of the Khowai River in the northeast are above danger

The river water is rising in Habiganj due to rains and slopes coming down from India. The waters of the Khowai River in the northeast are located above the danger line.

The Flood Forecasting and Warning Center of the Water Development Board (Paubo) said there was no danger of the flood situation deteriorating in seven days. However, there are indications that the water level of flood-prone rivers will increase.

Flood forecasting and warning center executive engineer. Arifuzzaman Bhuiyan said that the water level of Brahmaputra river is decreasing, on the other hand the water level of Jamuna river is stable, the water level of both the rivers may decrease on Sunday (August 8).

The water level in the Ganges-Padma rivers is rising, which may continue till next Monday (August 9). And the water levels of the major rivers in the Upper Meghna Basin in the north-east of the country are rising, which may continue.

The water of Khowai river in Balla is flowing over 6 cm of danger level.

In the ten-day forecast, Paubo says the water level in the Brahmaputra-Jamuna river may rise from stable to then by August 10. In the next seven days, there is no possibility of crossing the danger line in the Brahmaputra river basin.
