If there was a storm, we would be scared. During last night’s rain and storm, the tin sheds in our house were blown away. In addition, large cracks have appeared in different places of 7 to 8 houses. Meanwhile, the farmers’ hard-earned crops like paddy, maize, chilli and jute have been covered. Hundreds of fruit forests and wood trees have fallen on top.

The communication system from Kishoreganj to North Chandkhana Nagarban is closed due to some big trees on both sides of the paved road. The locals complained that the authorities did not take any measures to remove the fallen trees if the paved road was closed since morning. In this regard, Upazila Agriculture Officer Habibur Rahman said, Deputy Assistant Agriculture Officers are at the field level to determine the crop damage. Abu Hasnat Sarkar, Upazila Project Implementation Officer, said the concerned Union Parishad Chairman has been asked to prepare a list of names of the affected persons.
