The thief was identified on CCTV in Tahirpur and his mobile phone set was recovered


A gang of thieves has been identified on CCTV after a mobile phone set worth Tk 10 lakh was stolen in the middle of the night at Badaghat Bazaar in Sunamganj.

Meanwhile, the victim businessman on Tuesday complained about the theft at the Badaghat police outpost of Tahirpur police station.

Zahirul Islam, owner of Russell Telecom, a trader in Badaghat Bazar, said that a group of thieves broke the lock of the shutter of my telecom shop on School Road after midnight on Monday and entered Don. He then stole goods worth Tk 10 lakh, including a television, hundreds of memory cards and 85 mobile phone sets of different brands.
He further said that Shahporan, son of Khurshid Miah of Kanshtal village in Uor Baradal union of Hota upazila was identified after seeing the footage captured by CCTV camera after receiving the news.

Badaghat outpost in-charge SI Joynal Abedin said members of the gang, including Shahparan, had been identified and some stolen goods had been recovered.

Incidentally, in December last year, a group of thieves broke into the tin shed of another trader Zakir Hossain and stole 26 mobile phone sets worth several lakh rupees.
