Maherabbin Sunvi: Our Hon’ble Prime Minister Deshratna Sheikh Hasina once again brought honor to the country. UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has lauded Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for her remarkable development in Bangladesh under her dynamic and visionary leadership. This year’s visit of the Prime Minister to the United Nations will also be a dignified and dignified history for Bangladesh. In addition, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has received the ‘SDG Progress Award’ for Bangladesh’s achievements in sustainable development from 2015 to 2020. The United Nations Sustainable Development Solution Network (SDSN), Global Masters of Development Practice and Columbia University’s Earth Institute and Center for Sustainable Development jointly presented the award to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on her way to attend the General Assembly session. Heads of state and government of different countries and heads of various organizations have praised the development of Bangladesh and the leadership of Sheikh Hasina.
These are really honorable for us. In her address to the 7th session of the UN General Assembly in Bengal, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, “The Rohingya crisis is in Myanmar and the solution is in Myanmar’s hands. The international community must take constructive steps to repatriate the Rohingya. ”Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has attended the UN General Assembly session 16 times. As always, he gave a speech in Bengali.
The Rohingya issue is important in the discussion. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed frustration that the world community has not been able to resolve this crisis in four years. He said Myanmar must create a conducive environment for the return of its citizens. For this, the international community has to play a strong role. I have said before, I say again, the cause of the Rohingya crisis is in Myanmar, there is a solution in Myanmar. Only a safe, sustainable and dignified return to their homeland in the Rakhine State can bring about a lasting solution to this crisis. To this end, the international community must take constructive initiatives.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina put forward 6-point proposals on various global issues including tackling corona. He said there is an urgent need to eliminate vaccine inequality. Sustainable recovery is never possible without millions of people being vaccinated. Therefore, I urge once again to ensure the availability of vaccines at a fair and affordable price for all. At the session, he also spoke on the issue of climate change, whether rich or poor, no country is safe from adverse reactions. Therefore, I call on rich and industrialized countries to reduce carbon emissions, compensate for emissions and free transfer of financing and technology for sustainable adaptation. This year’s visit of the Prime Minister to the United Nations is also successful, fruitful and beneficial and dignified for the country.
