Police have arrested a 40-year-old businessman in Moulvibazar’s Srimangal Upazila for allegedly posting obscene articles and posting pictures on Facebook after insulting Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Earlier, Sub-Inspector of Srimangal Police Station Yusuf filed a case against him under the Digital Security Act.
He was arrested from Natunbazar in the municipal town at 10:30 pm on Tuesday (September 28). Abdul Mumin drinks business in Natunbazar area. He is an active member of Srimangal Business Association.
It is learned that on March 28, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi posted offensive pictures on Facebook from a Facebook ID. Abdul Mumin posted this from his Facebook ID. He was arrested after filing a case under the Digital Security Act.
Inspector (Operations) of Srimangal Police Station Nayan Karkun said that SI Yusuf of the police station filed a case under the Digital Security Act on Tuesday night. Abdul Mumin was sent to jail through the court on Wednesday afternoon in the case.
