The Prime Minister has arrived in Glasgow, Scotland

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has arrived in Glasgow, Scotland. He landed at Glasgow’s Prestwick Airport around 9:30 pm Bangladesh time. The Prime Minister left Dhaka today for the United Kingdom and France to attend the Global Climate Change Summit COP-26 and a few other events during her two-week foreign tour.

A VVIP flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage left Shahjalal International Airport in the capital at 9:27 am Bangladesh time.

He will also attend the ‘UNESCO-Bangladesh, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman International Award for Creative Economy’ and the 75th anniversary of UNESCO.

Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim said that while in Glasgow, the Prime Minister will attend a side event titled ‘CFV-Commonwealth High Level Panel Discussion on Climate Prosperity Partnership’ at the Commonwealth Pavilion of the Prime Minister’s Scottish Event Campus on Monday morning.

The Prime Minister of Bangladesh will have a meeting with Commonwealth Secretary General Patricia Scotland QC. He will later attend the opening ceremony of COP 26 and give a speech.

Sheikh Hasina will hold a meeting with Rajapaksa in Gotabha, the capital of Sri Lanka. The Prime Minister will attend a meeting titled ‘Action and Solidarity-The Critical Decade’ at the British Pavilion.

In the afternoon of the same day, Bill Gates, the founder of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, will pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Sheikh Hasina will attend the VVIP reception of ‘COP-26’.

On Tuesday morning, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will take part in a high-level meeting titled ‘Women and Climate Change’ at the Scottish Pavilion.

Sheikh Hasina will hold a bilateral meeting with Scottish First Minister Nicola Sturgeon at noon. He will later attend a Commonwealth reception. In the afternoon, Prince Charles will pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

Afterwards, the Prime Minister will have a meeting with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson in the UK conference room. Sheikh Hasina will also hold a bilateral meeting with Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison.

Sheikh Hasina will virtually attend the reception given to Bangladeshi citizens living in France on November 13.

The Prime Minister is expected to leave Paris for Dhaka on November 13 and arrive in Dhaka on November 14 in the morning.
