President Mohammad has called on the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to take necessary steps to punish the corrupt. Abdul Hamid. ACC Chairman Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah and Commissioner. Zahurul Haque made the call when he went to meet the President at Bangabhaban on Sunday (September 19) evening.
According to ACC sources, during the meeting, the ACC chairman informed the President about the overall activities of the commission. He also raised the issue of infrastructure and manpower crisis in the ACC office.
Bangladesh is moving forward on the path of development and progress, said the President. Abdul Hamid said, “Prevention of corruption is very important to make this trend of development sustainable.” He said, “Initiatives should be taken from educational institutions, society and families so that the young generation can grow up with anti-corruption attitude.” The commission will take strict measures to prevent institutional corruption as well as informal corruption.
Secretary to the President’s Office Sampad Barua, Military Secretary Major General SM Salahuddin Islam and Secretary (Joint) Md. Wahidul Islam Khan was present at the time.
