The trial is set to resume on Sunday in the presence of a lower court after a two-month lockdown in the Corona epidemic.
The Supreme Court administration on Saturday night issued a notification with the approval of Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain. Judgments will be administered in these courts in compliance with the Corona Protection Health Code.
However, to prevent the spread of corona, virtual bail and emergency hearings can be held in districts where local administration restrictions are in place.
Earlier on June 17, the Supreme Court had constituted 53 virtual benches in the High Court Division and announced the commencement of proceedings in all cases. The trial will begin on those benches in the High Court division from Sunday. Besides, the trial in the Virtual Appellate Division started on all working days of the week from June 1.
The Supreme Court administration announced in a notification on April 4 that it would hold hearings in only a limited number of virtual high and lower courts on emergency matters, including bail, due to the increase in the second phase of corona infection. As the normal judicial process is closed, the complexity of the case is increasing and the suffering and harassment of the candidates is also reaching its climax.
In this regard, the spokesperson of the Supreme Court Mohammad Saifur Rahman said that the trial is starting from Sunday in two divisions of the Supreme Court (Appellate and High Court) in the virtual and physical presence in the lower court.
