The ongoing lockdown across the country has been extended till June 16. A notification in this regard was issued by the Cabinet Division on Sunday afternoon. It said the ban was extended from June 6 to June 16 in the current Corona situation.
All tourist destinations, resorts, community centers and recreation centers will remain closed during this period, the notification said. Social, political and religious ceremonies where public gatherings are held should be stopped.
According to the report, food shops and hotels and restaurants will be able to sell food from 6 am to 10 pm. At the same time, they will be able to provide services by leaving half the seats vacant. The notification further said that in the high risk districts, the deputy commissioner will take action in consultation with the concerned technical committee. All types of public transport, including inter-district transport, will be able to carry half the number of passengers. But of course everyone must wear a mask.
Under the Corona situation, the government had on April 5 this year imposed restrictions on public transport for the first seven days. Later it was extended for two more days. An all-out lockdown was later announced from April 14 to 21. Then it increased a few points.
