Police have recovered the hanging body of a housewife from Kachpurai village in Osmaninagar upazila of Sylhet. His body was recovered from the rented house of Chaiful Bibi at Koransirod in Goalabazar Union of the upazila on Friday night.
The deceased was identified as Jolly Begum, 30, wife of Amir Ahmed of the same village.
It is learned that Jolly Begum and Amir Ahmed have two children named Tamim, 9 years old and Tamima Begum, 6 months old. Jolly Begum has been a bit mentally ill since Tamima was born. When her husband Amir Ahmed called Jolly Begum on her mobile phone on Friday evening, she informed the people in the area about the matter as she did not receive it.
At around 8.30 pm, the door of the house was smashed in front of the UP chairman and the father and mother of the deceased. Tamima Begum, a 6-month-old baby, is sleeping in the bed. When the matter was immediately reported to the police, the police recovered the body and sent it to Sylhet Osmani Hospital for autopsy.
Officer-in-charge of Osmaninagar Police Station Shyamalbonik said an unnatural death case has been filed in this regard.
