The founder and trustee of the public health center Dr. commented that the government is making the nation spineless by keeping the educational institutions closed. Jafrullah Chowdhury.
He said the biggest mistake of this government is to close down educational institutions. The university will take the exam but will not open the hall. What could be a bigger mistake than this? Will the students be on the field? Sit on the ground?
He made the remarks at a human chain demanding the opening of an educational institution organized by the Teachers-Employees-Parents Forum in front of the National Press Club on Saturday (June 19).
Dr. Jafrullah Chowdhury said, in Parliament today there is a discussion about Parimani but not a word about education. Where do we put this shame? How to correct this mistake? They (the government) will not correct this mistake. The present government is a government without votes, a government of vote robbery. All the decisions of this government will be wrong, it is normal. Everything is open today. Markets open, banks open, offices open. Only educational institutions are closed.
He said that earlier the boys and girls of the village used to get education. During our tenure, there were only eight students from Dhaka city in Dhaka Medical College. Everyone else came from the village. They do well in exams from us. There is no such opportunity today.
Addressing Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at the human chain, Mahmudur Rahman Manna, convener of Citizens’ Unity, said he knew that if the educational institutions were opened today, if the halls were opened, the opposition students would drown. Then there will be no BCL on campus, no DB people. All educational institutions will be occupied by opposition progressive students. They will say they want votes, they want education, they want medicine, they want vaccinations. We want action against Corona, we want the liberation of poor people, we want money, we want food. They (government) will not be able to give anything. For this reason, no matter what we say, they (the government) will not accept any demand.
BNP joint secretary general Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohail said the current government is not a people’s government. If it was a people’s government, it would think of the people. At one time oppressive kings did not want the people of his kingdom to be educated. They thought that if the people were educated they would rebel against the king. Sheikh Hasina thinks that if the people are educated, the people will also revolt against her. For this reason, educational institutions have been closed.
Also present at the human chain were former state minister for education ANM Ehsanul Haque Milon, BNP joint secretary general Khairul Kabir Khokon, former VP of Dakshur Nurul Haque Nur, Labor Party chairman Mostafizur Rahman Iran, teacher-employee-guardian forum chairman Prof Mohammad Selim Bhuiyan and others.
