The locals handed over a python to the police station at Srimangal in Moulvibazar. The snake was rescued by some people in Survipara area and brought to Srimangal police station.

Srimangal Thana Officer-in-Charge Abdus Chalek said Raju Deb, SM Sumel and Saidur Rahman Sujat, general secretaries of Srimangal Upazila Chhatra League, rescued the snake and took it to the police station on Friday afternoon. After receiving the news, Swapan Sajal Dev, director of Bangladesh Wildlife Service Foundation in Srimangal, collected the snake and informed the forest department.

Raju Dev said some people were going to kill the snake near an abandoned dobar in Surbhi Para area of ​​College Road on Friday afternoon. At that time they tied them up and with the help of the people they filled the sacks and brought them to the police station. Sajal Dev said the python was released in Lauachhara National Park at 6 pm. Range Officer Deen Islam, BIT Officer Anisur Zaman, FG Tajzul Islam, Director of Bangladesh Wildlife Services Foundation Swapan Dev Sajal, Environmentalist Rajdeep Dev Deep, General Secretary of Chhaelig Raju Dev and London expatriate Shimel were present.
