Bangabandhu Complex is being constructed in Sylhet. The 25-storey complex named after Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman will be constructed at a cost of around Tk 1,500 crore. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has given initial approval for the project. The complex will have various facilities including Bangabandhu Square, Bangabandhu Plaza, Heritage Market, Commercial Hub, Sheikh Russell Park, Convention Center, Auditorium, Fair Place.
This information was given by Mayor Ariful Haque Chowdhury in the budget announced in Sylhet City Corporation (CSIC) on Thursday (September 16).
At that time, the mayor said, in the name of the great architect of independence, Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, we have taken a step forward in the construction of the largest Bangabandhu Complex in Sylhet. We believe that the completion of the construction of this commercial hub will lead to unprecedented progress in the trade and commerce of the Sylhet metropolis.
Mayor Arif said, “I am grateful to the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangabandhu Memorial Trust for giving the initial approval for this project on behalf of the citizens of this holy land.” The complex will have various facilities for traders including Bangabandhu Square, Bangabandhu Plaza, Heritage Market, Commercial Hub.
