Sylhet Representative: Police Commissioner Stenographer has been sent to jail in Sylhet for his wife’s dowry case. Judge Abdul Momen of Sylhet’s Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday (December 30th) ordered him to be sent to jail.
He is SM Golam Mostafa, son of late Shah Sufi Sirajul Haque Fakir of ADC Hill area of Rangamati district of Chittagong. He was living in house No. 77, Road No. 3, Block F, Shahparan (Rah.) Thana area.
According to court sources, SM Golam Mostafa is working as a stenographer for the Sylhet Metropolitan Police Commissioner.
Golam Mostafa, who is in police service, filed a case against his wife’s dowry law in the Additional Chief Metropolitan Court of Sylhet on December 10. The court took cognizance of the allegation and issued summons to the accused.
In that case, Golam Mostafa appeared in court on Wednesday (December 30) at noon and applied for bail, but the court sent him to jail. The plaintiff’s lawyer Advocate Abdur Rahman Afzal Hossain confirmed the truth.
Advocate Misbah Uddin Siraj took part in the court hearing on behalf of the plaintiff.
