A python was recovered from the forest at Kamalganj in Moulvibazar. Later, the snake was released again in Lauyachhara National Park. The villagers rescued the snake about 6 feet long. After informing the Wildlife and Nature Conservation Department, they rescued the python and brought it to the rescue center in Lauyachhara.
The incident took place in Tilabazar area of Islampur Union bordering the upazila at 6:30 pm on Friday. The python rescued at night was released in Lauyachhara National Park.
According to local sources, Nirmal Kumar Singh of Tilabazar area of Islampur union of the upazila saw a huge python at 5 pm on Friday while cutting paddy in his land. Later, he took the villagers with him and captured the snake inside a sack. Locals informed the Wildlife and Nature Conservation Department to rescue the captured python. Later in the night, a team led by Shahidul Islam, Lauachhara Range Officer of the Wildlife Department, went to Battala area of Tilabazar and rescued the python in the hands of the villagers. As the python was healthy, it was released in Lauyachhara National Park at 10 pm on Friday.
