BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has alleged that the government has started mass fraud in the name of mass vaccination without collecting enough vaccines.
He said that due to extreme mismanagement and factionalism, this publicity campaign has turned into a mass media campaign.
He said this at a press conference at the BNP chairperson’s office in Gulshan on Sunday.
Mirza Fakhrul said the party’s standing committee meeting on Saturday called on the government to come out of party affiliation and take effective measures for universal vaccination. He strongly condemned and protested the incident of involving party workers for the purpose of turning the mass vaccination program into a complete party program.
The BNP secretary general further said that a mass joke has started in the name of Ganatikar all over the country. One crore 60 lakh vaccines have come into their hands (government). If 70 percent of the people are to be vaccinated, 26 crore vaccines will be needed. At first he promised to give one crore vaccines in a week but now he has promised to give 3 million. The government is failing to vaccinate. The identity of lack of coordination and irresponsibility has become clear to the people through the different statements of the ministers and responsible persons of the government at different times.
BNP standing committee member Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku has accused the ruling party of trading in vaccines. He said this while addressing a function of Ziaur Rahman Foundation and Doctors Association of Bangladesh (DAB) yesterday.
“We are working in different places,” said Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku, convener of the Corona Monitoring National Committee. And the general secretary of the Awami League said that we are not seen. On the contrary, his party is not standing by the people. There are reports in the media that the ruling party is also sharing in the vaccination.
The event was presided over by Professor Farhad Halim Donar, Executive Director of Ziaur Rahman Foundation and conducted by Syed Emran Saleh Prince, Organizing Secretary of BNP. Rafiqul Islam, DAB President Prof. Harun Al Rashid, Secretary General Prof. Abdus Salam, Central Leader MA Selim, Zahirul Islam Shakil, Mehedi Hasan, Fakhruzzaman, Shah Muhammad Aman Ullah of Ziaur Rahman Foundation, Prof. Morshed Hasan Khan, Shamimur Rahman Shamim Press Wing member Shairul Kabir Khan was present.
At the BNP chairperson’s office in Gulshan, medicines, oxygen cylinders, masks and sanitizers were handed over to the BNP’s Corona Help Center at the initiative of Ziaur Rahman Foundation and DAB.
