Police arrested 383 people in the capital on Saturday, the second day of the strictest coronavirus restrictions. They were arrested on charges of leaving the house unnecessarily.

Iftekhairul Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Media and Public Relations, DMP, told the media today. He said the DMP’s mobile court had fined 137 people Tk 95,230 for violating the ban by conducting raids in different parts of the capital from 6 am to 6 pm today.

Besides, the traffic department of DMP fined 441 vehicles Tk 10 lakh 63 thousand on various charges including violating the rules as per the Road Transport Act.
The government imposed strict restrictions on the second wave of corona infections from July 1 to 7. Later it was extended to 14 July.

Due to Eid-ul-Azha, strict restrictions were relaxed from July 15 to 22. Later, from July 23 to August 5, the government imposed the ‘strictest restrictions’. Today was the second day of this restriction.
