Nurses and staff of Camellia Duncan Foundation Hospital in Shamshernagar, Kamalganj upazila of Moulvibazar have called for a three-day strike in protest of non-implementation of the recommended pay structure for employees of Camellia Duncan Foundation Hospital.
They have been on strike since this morning. On Wednesday, from 9 am to 12 noon, the strike will be observed for 3 consecutive days by striking for 3 hours every day. They threatened to go for a tough movement if they did not accept their just demands within this period.
Employees of Camellia Duncan Foundation Hospital in Shamshernagar Tea Garden, including nurses, ward boys, ward girls, paniwalas, gardeners, cleaners, laundresses, chefs and guards, went on strike in front of the hospital from 9am on Wednesday.
On Wednesday morning, 3rd and 4th class employees of various positions including nurses, ward boys and ward girls at Camellia Duncan Foundation Hospital held a sit-in program with banners at the entrance of the hospital. Nurse Mary Ralph, Tanumay Burma, Mrs. Mridha, Shyamal Almik and others spoke on the occasion.
Mohan Rabidas, President of Jagran Youth Forum, expressed solidarity with the movement on behalf of the students and youth council of Shamshernagar Tea Garden. When asked about this from the authorities, the administrator and responsible person of Camellia Duncan Foundation did not want to speak.
