Habibur Rahman Habib, a Member of Parliament from Sylhet-3 constituency and a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee of the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare, said that no one has to pay any money other than the government fee for the installation of deep tube wells. If anyone demands money, report it to me with proof and legal action will be taken against him immediately.
He made the remarks while addressing a function to distribute deep tube wells at the Upazila Parishad Auditorium at noon on Saturday (October 16) at the initiative of Dakshin Surma Upazila Public Health Engineering Office to develop a safe water supply system.
“Safe water helps people live healthier lives,” he said. That is why the Prime Minister of the present government, Sheikh Hasina, is installing deep tube wells in every part of the country for the purpose of using arsenic-free pure water. As a result, the people of the country are being protected from various water borne diseases by drinking and using potable water.
MP Habib said the government’s activities are going on in Sylhet-3 constituency. I am working sincerely so that the people of my constituency can easily use pure drinking water.
District Assistant Commissioner (Land) Makhan Chandra Sutradhar and Upazila Acting Education Officer Lutfur Rahman presided over the function. District Awami League Deputy Publicity Secretary Matiur Rahman Moti, Upazila Awami League President Bir Muktijoddha Saiful Alam, General Secretary Advocate Shamim Ahmed, former Organizing Secretary Masuk Uddin Ahmed, Badrul Islam, Upazila Agriculture Officer Shamim Akter, South Surma Press Club President Jahangir Alam Musik, Bir Muktijoddha Maqbul Hossain, District Krishka League Joint-Secretary Zayed Ali and others. Upazila Public Health Engineer Isfaqur Rahman Chowdhury gave a welcome speech on the occasion.
Later, MP Habibur Rahman Habib addressed a discussion meeting on the occasion of World Food Day organized by Dakshin Surma Upazila Agriculture Office as the chief guest.
