The family of this martyred freedom fighter is also deprived of government facilities. Kamini Chandra Bamarna, younger brother of martyred freedom fighter Pulin Chandra Barman, was given a month’s worth of food and Tk 2,000 in cash as a gift on Wednesday (April 21) in Charan Bazar area of Barabala Union in the upazila.

Azahar Ali, the founder of the voluntary organization Amrai Bangladesh, Ataur Rahman, the president, Mustafizur Rahman, the vice-president, Belayet Hossain, the general secretary, Mahe Alam, the organizing secretary, Shamim Mia, the co-organizing secretary, Jamiul Islam, the finance secretary. , Publicity and Publication Secretary Faisal Shihab and General Secretary of Bangladesh Human Rights Commission Mithapukur Upazila Branch Ashikur Rahman were present.

Members of the Muktijoddha family are happy to have the support of Kamini Chandra Barman, the sole breadwinner of the family, in the ongoing lockdown due to the epidemic. On the same day, the activists of Bangladesh Human Rights Commission, Mithapukur branch came to his house to search for the family. At that time, they called for paying close attention to the family. It may be mentioned that Pulin Chandra Barman, son of Charan area of Barabala union of Mithapukur upazila of Rangpur died in the war of independence. His name is in the red liberation message as a martyred freedom fighter. His name is also in the gazette published by the Ministry of Freedom Fighters Affairs in 2005.

Even though he was included in the final list of freedom fighters of Rangpur district administration in 2005 and upazila administration in 2021, he still did not get the certificate of martyred freedom fighter, did not get the status of freedom fighter, did not even get any help. The family of this martyred freedom fighter is also deprived of government facilities. Pulin Chandra Barman joined the Mukti Bahini during the War of Independence and was brutally tortured by the Pakistani aggressors. Members of the invading forces dipped his body in hot water and set it on fire. At that moment, the freedom-loving fresh life of Bengal turned to ashes.

The last part of his body was not found. There is no one to look after the life of this freedom fighter family who lost his life for the country. The family of this sun child of the country is somehow living on the scourge of poverty. His only brother Kamini Chandra Varman somehow lived on the land for only four centuries. There is no way out of that house. Being helpless, they somehow manage their daily life with other family members. The family of the martyred freedom fighter did not even get a house for the homeless as a gift from the Hon’ble Prime Minister. Kamini Chandra Barman, a 65-year-old man, lost his brother and accepted the deprivation.
