Amirul Kabir Suzan, Mithapukur (Rangpur): The 46th Martyrdom Anniversary and National Mourning Day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bengali of all time, the great architect of independence, has been celebrated with deep respect and love at Mithapukur in Rangpur.
Newly-appointed Upazila Nirbahi Officer Fatematuz Zohra Scholarship and Assistant Commissioner (Land) Mahmud Hasan Mridha paid homage to the portrait of Bangabandhu at Muktijoddha Complex Bangabandhu on Sunday (August 15). Besides, officials of all government and private departments, freedom fighters and leaders of various political and social organizations.
From the very beginning of the day, people of different walks of life came to pay their respects to the martyred members of Bangabandhu and his family on the day of the most heinous and heinous massacre in history.
After that a discussion meeting was organized in the hall room of Upazila Begum Rokeya Auditorium.The meeting was presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Fatematuz Zohra Brti and the chief guest was HN Ashikur Rahman MP, Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Public Administration, Zakir Hossain Sarkar, Chairman, Mithapukur Upazila, Babu Niranjan Mohant, Vice Chairman and Shamima Akhter Jasmine, Vice Chairman.
The keynote speaker was Rehena Ashikur Rahman, Senior Co-President of Upazila Awami League and Red Crescent Society Rangpur Unit. Officer-in-charge of Mithapukur Police Station Zakir Hossain, freedom fighter Ayub Ali, organizing secretary of Upazila Awami League Shah Anwar Sadat Lemon, former president of Mithapukur Press Club Pradeep Kumar Goswami and others. After the discussion, Imam of Upazila Model Mosque Mufti Akhiruzzaan Azadi conducted the munajat.
Harendranath Barman, General Manager, Rangpur Palli Bidyut Samiti-1, also paid homage to the portrait of Bangabandhu at the Upazila Muktijoddha Complex with flowers. And special prayers and munajat were offered at Hafezia Madrasa located in the premises of Palli Bidyut Office under the management of Rangpur Palli Bidyut Samiti-1.
