‘Mujib Centenary Moulvibazar District Chess League’ started for the first time

The ‘Mujib Centenary Moulvibazar District Chess League’ started for the first time in Moulvibazar. The chess league was inaugurated at 10:30 am on Wednesday at the Moulvibazar District Stadium. The first round match will be held this afternoon.

8 teams are participating in the district chess league. The teams are Diamond Club, Wanderers Club, Eleven Star Club, Confidence Club, Brothers Union, Club Sunflower, Mahdis XI, Unbitten Eleven Cricket Club. The five-day chess league is being organized by the district sports body and under the overall supervision of the district police.
Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan, District Council Chairman and General Secretary of Sports Association Misbahur Rahman, Superintendent of Police Mohammad Zakaria, Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Ziaur Rahman were present at the inaugural function conducted by Additional Superintendent of Police (DSB) Sudarshan Kumar Roy.

It is to be mentioned that this is the first time that the game of Mujib Centenary District Chess League has been started with the inspiration of Bangladesh Chess Federation under the patronage of Bangladesh Police through district sports organizations across the country.
