MP Jesse handed over checks among 43 destitute people in Chapainawabganj

Abdullah Al Mamun, Chapainawabganj: A check for a grant of Tk 250,000 has been issued among 43 destitute people in Chapainawabganj from the optional fund of the Prime Minister. On this occasion, a discussion meeting was held at the Upazila Parishad auditorium at 11:30 am on Tuesday at the initiative of Sadar Upazila Parishad. Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Nazmul Islam Sarkar presided over the function and Ferdousi Islam Jesse, Member of Parliament for the reserved women’s seat, delivered the keynote address.

In his speech, the chief guest said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, daughter of Bangabandhu, has been working relentlessly for the people of the country. The government is providing widow allowance, old age allowance and maternity allowance. The Prime Minister has stood among the helpless people during the Coronation period. “We have gained independence under the leadership of the father of the nation,” he added.

The constitution he gave had a clear reference to the development of backward castes. He made sure that people of all walks of life get equal opportunities from the government and the country. Later, the chief guest handed over checks to 43 needy people. Sadar Upazila Awami League President Md. Azizur Rahman, agriculturist Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, District Awami League Organizing Secretary Mesbahul Shaker Jyoti, District Forest and Environment Secretary Abdul Hai, Sadar Upazila Parishad Women Vice Chairman Nasrin Akhter and others were present.
