Minority injured in Gowainghat attack Rajini dies

Rajni Biswas, a member of the minority community, was killed in an attack by miscreants at Gowainghat in Sylhet.

He died at Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital around 10am on Wednesday (September 22). His death has cast a shadow of mourning over the local area.

It is learned that Rajni Biswas was returning home from Hakur Bazar in the local area on Friday night (September 17) after selling fish. At one stage, when he reached Ghoshgram (Srinathpur) area of ​​Daubari Union No. 9, 4/5 terrorist miscreants from the east attacked him with sharp domestic weapons. He was seriously injured. Later, the locals rescued him in critical condition and sent him to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital. He was on the verge of death in the ICU of the hospital. He finally fought to the death and died at around 10 am on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the day after the incident, Rajni Biswas’s elder brother Tarni Biswas himself filed a case against Gowainghat Police Station accusing Taj Uddin (19), Rubel Ahmed Bahar (21) and Monir Uddin (25), sons of late Mahib Ullah of Dhatari area (Ghoshgram). . Whose case No. 17/2021. Police later arrested Rubel Ahmed Bahar in the incident, but other accomplices have not been arrested for mysterious reasons. There is anger among the locals.

Tarni Biswas, the elder brother of the deceased, told this correspondent that the relatives of the accused are threatening to attack, sue and kill in various ways to take up the case. He and his family members are currently suffering from extreme insecurity. At that time, he said, they had a long-running dispute with the accused. To make up for that, the miscreants attacked his younger brother in the dark of night. He demanded a fair trial.

When contacted by Gowainghat Police Station Officer-in-Charge Parimal Dev on his mobile phone, he admitted the incident and said that the police were working to arrest the accused. He said there was no negligence on the part of the police.
