Information and Broadcasting Minister. Hasan Mahmud said, the media workers law is in the final stage. I am trying to take it to the next parliament. Work is also underway on the broadcasting law, which has come a long way. There is a protection if every house arranges insurance for journalists. But it is also said on the weight board. I would request everyone to make this arrangement.

He expressed this hope while exchanging views with the newly elected committee of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) at the meeting room of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Wednesday (November 3).

BFUJ’s newly elected president Omar Farooq, vice-president Madhusudan Mandal, secretary general Dwip Azad, joint secretary general Sheikh Mamunur Rashid, treasurer Khairuzzaman Kamal, executive member Dr. Uttam Kumar Sarkar, Sebika Rani, Sheikh Nazmul Haque Saikat were present.

Information and Broadcasting Minister Hassan Mahmud said Corona was gone. The subatas that have started to book in business now, the crises that were in the media during Corona’s time, are no more. Much has been removed. I hope that those who lost their jobs during the Corona period will be reinstated.

He said, ‘It never happens that a journalist will return empty-handed after working for so many years, it should not happen. Because those who do journalism are better than many in talent and ability. But the debt they get in their job or the debt they get at the end of the job is less than many. That shouldn’t happen. ”

Congratulating Rozina Islam, a journalist from Prothom Alo, on receiving the award, the minister said, “She was awarded by an organization in the Netherlands and her husband received the award from a Pakistani journalist. I congratulate her.” I can’t say anything about the matter under trial.

Referring to the BNP, he said, “One thing applies to the BNP, hope is the only hope in the ocean.” This applies to the BNP. They are living with hope. Hopefully, that will change one day. Of course, one day, not everyone will be in power forever. The question is whether people want that change for the BNP. Because the question is what change people want for those who throw petrol bombs at people or do politics of holding people hostage for their own interests, those who do murder-conspiracy politics, excluding this development progress.

Meanwhile, BFUJ Secretary General Dwip Azad told reporters that the Media Workers Act, Ninth Wage Board, Broadcasting Commission has been formed and Clean Feed has been introduced. In the last one and a half years, where the Prime Minister has shown humanity, some of our media who were in for-profit organizations have shown inhumanity. They are not paying the workers properly, while the workers have been laid off. It was extremely sad.

“Today we are making a demand to you, take ownership from the owners who are not able to run the media and make arrangements to hand over the ownership to those who can run the media properly,” he said.
